A non-stop song: Six the Musical at the Morrison Center in Boise

Have you ever experienced a show that transports you into another world? Well, I had one of those nights at the Morrison Center in Boise, where the buzz of excitement was definitely there!

If you're not familiar, Six is an electrifying retelling of the lives of the six wives of King Henry VIII, and trust me, it’s not your typical historical drama. Imagine a pop concert meets a musical. The energy was intense right from the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes hit our ears.

As the show kicked off, we were introduced to the six queens. Each took their turn to share her story, but not in a dusty old history lesson way. No, no. This was like a fierce, modern-day empowerment anthem wrapped in glitter and sass! Honestly, the singing didn’t stop from the beginning of the show the end!

One of the things I loved most was how each character brought her own unique spin to the stage. Anne Boleyn was an absolute scene-stealer with her cheeky Lose Your Head, while Jane Seymour tugged at our heartstrings with her soulful ballad Heart Stone.

The choreography was another highlight. The queens danced, and danced, and danced! It's not every day you see history come alive through such choreography and music. The costumes also deserve a shoutout—talk about a visual feast! The bright colors reflected the vibrant (let me re-state that, vibrant) personalities of each character, making it almost feel like a fashion show at times.

And the energy of the cast! You could feel their passion! They were clearly having the time of their lives, and it was infectious! The camaraderie on stage reminded me that even though they were singing about rivalry, they were all on the same team. By the time the show reached its finale, everyone there was all on our feet, cheering and clapping along like we were at a concert.
